I have no need to tell you who scored the majority of the goals. Neil Mellor who by now must be the all time goalscorer for Preston in the reserves scored another hat trick. The ex-Liverpool man still fails to command a decent run in the first team and can do little more than continue to bang in the goals for the reserves. The first team appear to lack a goalscorer and Paul Simpson appears not to recognise the talent of Mellor.

Whaley and Oremerod were the other scorers as Preston ran home easy winners to mount a challenge towards the top end of the reserves league table.
