There were very few positives to come out of this match for Preston as the performance was just disastrous. The management questioned the professionalism of the majority of the players and the desire to play in the reserves.

Jason Jarrett was substituted after only 22 minutes after allowing Carlisle an easy first goal. There were poor performances all round and a lack of desire gave Carlislea second goal.

Andy Smith continued his comeback with 45 minutes and was replaced by the welcome figure of Brett Ormerod for the second half. Neil Mellor looks in contention for a place in the squad on Friday after completing 90 minutes. Joe Anyinsah took a bang on his knee so was taken off.
