Preston fielded one of the youngstest ever reserve sides in their history as they managed to gain a draw against a more experienced side. Iain Howard grabbed the goal for the North End reserve team who had to call upon some of the under 16 players because the squad were so desperate.
It is also rumoured that because the reserve side has consisted of almost entirely the youth setup this season, there will be no reserve team next season. At times the youngsters have been playing two games in quick suuccession and it would be more beneficial to keep the youth setup going rather than mainatin a second string side.
