What Neil Mellor has to do to get a decent run in the first team can only be answered by Paul Simpson. After scoring endless amounts of goals last season in the reserves Mellor once again found himself in the second string earlier this evening.
Mellor bagged only a brace this time with another first team outcast Lewis Neal scoring in an easy victory. The second team was strong but it appears none of them Hawley, Hill, Jarrett, Neal and Mellor can do anything to break into the first team. Perhaps this Saturday may see a change to that.
