Across The Pond
Following on from yesterday's update on the former Lilywhites and their whereabouts throughout the English Leagues, as usual we bring you up to date on those across the pond.
Brian McBride/Chicago Fire
In alphabetical order, Chicago Fire striker Brian McBride was involved in his side's 1-1 draw with the Kansas City Wizards on Sunday. Fire were unable to hold on to their lead and build on last week's win over LA Galaxy as just two minutes after Cuauhtemoc Blanco put the visitors ahead from the penalty spot, Michael Harrington equalised to ensure the points were shared. McBride is yet to add to his only goal for his new club despite featuring in all of their games since he joined.
Fire currently occupy third spot in the Eastern Standings and are just one point behind New England who have already clinched a play-off spot.
David Beckham & Eddie Lewis/LA Galaxy
Galaxy's disastrous run of form continued in Ohio as Columbus Crew saw off LA in a 1-0 win. Despite having Beckham and Lewis on either flank, Galaxy were devoid of ideas and failed to make any clear cut chances. Galaxy have just one win in 15 and are propping up the Western Standings.
Danny Dichio/Toronto FC
The same could not be said for Toronto as they recorded an impressive 3-1 win over the New York Red Bulls. Danny Dichio was in from the start as he proved to be his usual industrious self despite not getting on the score sheet himself. The win now means that Toronto have a chance, albeit a very slim one, of reaching the play-offs.
Toronto are still bottom of the Western Standings but are just four points behind New York who occupy 4th.
