Across The Pond
Chicago Fire's hopes of winning the MLS cup came to an end on Thursday when they lost to Columbus Crew.
When Brian McBride put his side ahead in the opening 30 minutes of the Eastern Conference Championship it looked as though it was going to be Fire's year. However, thanks to goals from Chad Marshall and Eddie Graven early in the second half, Fire's hopes and dreams were dashed and instead it is McBride's old club that will be advancing.
As a result, this will be our last edition of Across The Pond for this season but we will be back with more when the MLS kicks off again in 2009.
