Old Boys Fail To Inspire Pompey

With Portsmouth being depeleted due to the African Nations' Cup, David Nugent was given his first start since August in the league. Nugent had little chance to make an impression as a lone striker as Portsmouth struggled to get the ball to him.

Pompey ended up chasing the game being two down before half time. Franck Songo'o who was on loan at Deepdale last season filling in for the injured Simon Whaley featured for Portsmouth for the first time in two years but could not help the travelling side.
