Peter Bankes came through the ranks of refereeing in the Conference and ran the line in the Premier League as well as the FA Cup Semi-Final match in 2012/13 as Wigan beat Millwall 2-0.
His debut as a referee in the Football League was a 1-1 draw between Plymouth and Mansfield on 1 February 2014.
His last match was the 3-0 home win for Oldham over Notts County on 31 January. Prior to that game Peter Bankes officiated his first Championship match as Middlesbrough beat Huddersfield 2-0 on 17 January.
This will be his first time he will take charge of a Chesterfield match.
