Peter Bankes came through the ranks of refereeing in the Conference and ran the line in the Premier League as well as the FA Cup Semi-Final match in 2012/13 as Wigan beat Millwall 2-0.
His debut as a referee in the Football League was a 1-1 draw between Plymouth and Mansfield on 1 February 2014.
This season has seen him referee four League Two matches and one JPT match.
His last match was a 1-0 win for Accrington against AFC Wimbledon on 13 September 2014. This will be his first match as a referee involving PNE and Port Vale.
