Simon Hooper joined the National List of referees for the start of the 2008/09 season and made his debut in the Football League in a 1-0 win for Shrewsbury at Exeter on 16 August 2008.
Although this will be his first Lilywhite match, he took charge of the Saints 2-0 win at home to Hartlepool last season which saw Pool’s Sam Collins sent off after 50 minutes.
His last match was a 4-1 victory for AFC Wimbledon against Cheltenham on 17 September.

His assistants are Chris Powell from Dorset and Mark Russell from Bristol. The fourth official is Darren Sheldrake who was the referee in PNE's 3-0 victory at Scunthorpe on 15 March 2011.
