Kevin Johnston is now in his second season as a Football League Referee. His first match involving a League team was Leyton Orient’s 5-2 win over Southport in the FA Cup on 9 November 2013. His last Conference match was in a Play-Off Semi Final which Gateshead won 3-1 over 9 man Grimsby.
His first League match was a 1-1 draw between Tranmere and York on 9 August 2014, his first Championship match was at Molineux as Wolves beat Blackpool 2-0 on 17 January 2015.
His last game was a 0-0 draw between Cardiff and MK Dons on 6 February 2016. This will be his Lilywhite debut as a referee,

His assistants are Nick Hopton from Derbyshire and Mark Russell from Somerset. The fourth official is Ben Toner from Somerset who is in his first full season as a Football League referee.
