Born in March 1963, Scott Mathieson has been a National list match official since 1990, spending four seasons on the line before being promoted to the referees list in 1994. His early careers in refereeing were spent in and around his native Stockport and on the Cheshire League. In 2001 he officiated on the finals of The FA Vase and Football League Cup which saw Liverpool beat Birmingham on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
His last Oldham match was a 3-2 win at Accrington in the Football League Trophy on 4 September 2007.
His last match was a 5-3 home victory over Cardiff on 22 October.
