Mike Jones started as a referee at the age of 15. After four years as an assistant referee he was appointed to the National List of referees in 1997/98. He was the fourth official for the 2004 Carling Cup Final and his senior refereeing appointments include 1997 Conference League Cup Final, 2005 FA Women's Cup Final, and in 2007 the Division Two Play Off Final between Bristol Rovers and Shrewsbury at Wembley.
