New Referee takes charge at Swansea

Phil Gibbs is employed as an Assistant Headteacher at a Boys School in Birmingham and has been a qualified referee since 1993. He joined National List of Referees in 2008 and his first league match was on 9 August 2008 as Shrewsbury beat Macclesfield 4-0.

Previously Phil Gibbs officiated as a referee in the 2007 Sunday Cup Final at Anfield and as Fourth Official in the 2005 Womens FA Cup Final.

So far this season he has refereed ten League Two matches, four League One matches, an FA Cup and a Football League Trophy match. In these 16 matches he has produced 36 yellow and one red card.

The red card came in his last match when he sent off Swindon's Kanyuka in their 2-1 defeat at Huddersfield.

His assistants are Adrian Matthews and Andrew Sainsbury both from Wiltshire, whilst the fourth official is Roger Vaughan from North Somerset.
