Darren Sheldrake started refereeing at the age of 14 and in twelve years he has made to the National list of Referees when he was promoted to this list for 2009/10 after sending a couple of season in the Blue Square Premier. He had progressed through the local, supply and contributory leagues in Surrey.

 

He was the fourth official in the 2008 Conference Play-off final between Torquay and Exeter and made his league debut in the 2-1 home win for Cheltenham against Grimsby on 8 August 2009

 

His last match was a 2-1 win for Scunthorpe against Crewe on 13 December. His last Peterborough match was a 1-0 win over Coventry on 12 April 2014.  

 

This season Darren Sheldrake has produced the most red cards than any other referee with eight in 14 matches. Five came in his first seven matches and three in his last four matches.
