Sor far this season he has produced 53 yellow and 7 red cards in 11 matches. Most of the red cards have come in the last few weeks, last Sunday he sent off three players between Man City and Tottenham (Fernandes & Dunne for City and Ekotto for Spurs).

He also the referee for the Sheffield derby last month when two were sent off.

His last game which involved Preston was the FA Cup match against Portsmouth at Deepdale last season. He must have been a lucky omen for Pompey as he was also the referee for the 2008 FA Cup Final in which Portsmouth beat Cardiff at Wembley.

In total he produced 154 yellow cards and 10 red cards last season.

His assistants are J.Stokes from the Wirral and Richard West from East Yorkshire. The fourth official is Anthony Taylor from Greater Manchester.
