Tim Robinson started with the Sussex FA before achieving Level 2 promotion in the summer of 2010 to the National Conference Leagues.
The summer of 2012 saw Tim Robinson become a Level 1 Referee and promotion to the Football League. His first match was a 1-0 win for Accrington at Southend on 18 August 2012.
His first red card came in his fourth match as Wycombe was reduced to ten men in their 3-1 defeat at Chesterfield. October 2012 saw his first League One game with a 0-0 draw between Brentford and Shrewsbury. On 19 February 2013 saw him officiate his first Championship match with Hull defeating Blackburn 2-0.
His last match was a 3-0 victory for Norwich at Brentford on 16 September This will be his first Preston match as a referee but his last Coventry match was a 1-0 home win over Stevenage on 26 March 2014.
