Darren Sheldrake started refereeing at the age of 14 and in twelve years he has made to the National list of Referees when he was promoted to this list for 2009/10 after sending a couple of season in the Blue Square Premier. He had progressed through the local, supply and contributory leagues inSurrey.
He was the fourth official in the 2008 Conference Play-off final between Torquay andExeterand made his league debut in the 2-1 home win for Cheltenham againstGrimsbyon 8 August 2009
His last match was a 2-1 win forOxfordatAldershotin the JP Trophy on 4 October. Whilst his last Walsall match was a 1-0 defeat at MK Dons on 10 October 2009.
