David Webb got involved in refereeing when he took a refereeing course after seeing an advertisement in a football programme and via talking to referees when he was playing local football.
He was promoted to the National List of Referees at the start of the 2008/09 season and took charge of his first football league match on 9 August 2008 as Bury beat Bradford 1-0. His first Championship match was at Deepdale with a 2-0 victory of Darren Ferguson’s Peterborough.
A trip to the United States to officiate in the Dallas Cup, which involved Manchester City and other age-group teams from Italy, Canada, Mexico and Uruguay, furthered his education
His last match was a 1-1 draw between Oldham and Bradford on 1 December 2013.
His previous match involving Wycombe was a 3-2 defeat at Rochdale on 28 September 2013.
