Spinning the first Webb

Last updated : 08 August 2014 By @pnemad

David Webb got involved in refereeing when he took a refereeing course after seeing an advertisement in a football programme and via talking to referees when he was playing local football.

He was promoted to the National List of Referees at the start of the 2008/09 season and took charge of his first football league match on 9 August 2008 as Bury beat Bradford 1-0. His first Championship match was at Deepdale with a 2-0 victory of Darren Ferguson’s Peterborough.

A trip to the United States to officiate in the Dallas Cup, which involved Manchester City and other age-group teams from Italy, Canada, Mexico and Uruguay, furthered his education

His last match was a 1-0 win for Colchester at Walsall  on 3 May 2014.

His last match involving Notts County was a 1-0 home defeat to Champions Wolves on 16 November 2013.
