Colin Webster started refereeing in 1988 and progressed through the Wearside and Northern Leagues before being appointed to the national list of assistant referees in 1994. He was added to the referees list in 2000 and was an assistant referee at the 2000 FA Trophy final.
His first match was Blackpool’s 3-1 home win over Hull on 12 August 2000. On 29 May 2010 he took charge of the League One Play Off final at Wembley which Millwall beat Swindon 1-0.
His last match was Rochdale's 3-2 victory over Walsall at the weekend. His last Norwich game was the opening match of the 2008/09 season which resulted in a 2-0 defeat at Charlton.
