David Webb got involved in refereeing when he took a refereeing course after seeing an advertisement in a football programme and through talking to referees when he was playing local football.
He was promoted to the National List of Referees at the start of the 2008/09 season and took charge of his first football league match on 9 August 2008 as Bury beat Bradford1-0. His first Championship match was at Deepdale with a 2-0 victory of Darren Ferguson’s Peterborough.
His last match was a 2-2 draw between Port Vale & Crawley on 6 August 2011 which saw the new boys reduced to ten men when John Demster was red carded on 77 minutes.
This will be David Webb’s first match officiating in a Crewe match.
