Webb spinning again

Last updated : 07 February 2012 By @pnemad

David Webb got involved in refereeing when he took a refereeing course after seeing an advertisement in a football programme and via talking to referees when he was playing local football.

He was promoted to the National List of Referees at the start of the 2008/09 season and took charge of his first football league match on 9 August 2008 as Bury beat Bradford 1-0. His first Championship match was at Deepdale with a 2-0 victory of Darren Ferguson’s Peterborough.

His last match was also Peterborough in their 3-0 home defeat to Portsmouth on 28 January. Both of these sides were the opposition in David Webb's first two matches at Deepdale

His last match for Tranmere was on 22 January 2011 when Rovers beat promotion bound Southampton 2-0 at Prenton Park.
