Pat Miller started refereeing in 1995 and reached the National List of Assistant Referees in 2002.
In 2004 he ran the line in the League Two Play Off final and took charge of the FA Vase Final between Kirkham & Wesham and Needham Market on 29 March 2008.
He was promoted to the National List of Referees in 2005 and took charge of his first league match on 6 August 2005 as Cheltenham beat Bury 2-1. His first Championship match in charge was a 4-1 win for Stoke at Ipswich on 8 April 2006.
His last match was a 0-0 draw between Crawley against Colchester on 28 December 2014. His last Blades match was a 1-1 draw at Scunthorpe on 10 September 2011 which saw the Irons reduced to 10 men on 25 minutes.
