Nigel Miller started referring in 1989 and appointed to the National list of assistant referees in 1996. After spending some time on the Select Group list he was promoted to National List referee in 2003.
His assistants on Boxing Day against Barnsley are Ross Joyce of Cleveland and Paul Kettlewell from Lancashire. The fourth official is Ryan Johnson from Manchester
