Player Profile – Max Ehmer
Maximilian Andreas Ehmer wasborn on 3 February 1992 in Frankfurt, Germany. As a boy his family moved to England. He played in youth teams for Ascot United, ACS Egham School and Warfield Predator youth sides, before QPR took him into their academy set-up.
Ehmer has been with QPR since the age of eleven and has worked his way through the ranks, captaining his age group at various stages. He signed his first QPR contract in the summer of 2009. He has been coached by former Yeovil midfielder Marc Bircham, QPR's youth team manager.
Ehmer signed for Yeovil on a month-long loan on 1 January 2011. He made his debut against Plymouth on 1 January 2011, playing the full 90 minutes in a 0–0 draw. That loan deal was then later made an 'end of season' due to a number of good performances from Ehmer. His loan ended shortly after the final game of the season, a 2–0 win away to Carlisle, in which Ehmer was used as a half-time sub. He had made 27 appearances.
On 21 July 2011, Yeovil agreed a deal which would see Ehmer return to Huish Park on a six-month youth loan deal. He subsequently scored his first goal in the JP Trophy against Bournemouth on 4 October 2011, and in December his loan deal was extended until the end of the season. Ehmer returned to QPR on 19 January 2012 following a change in management at both Yeovil and his parent club. His last match was a 4-0 defeat at Sheffield United on 10 January. In his second spell at Yeovil he had made 24 league appearances.
On 16 March 2012, Ehmer signed for Preston on loan until the 5 May 2012. He made his Lilywhite debut the following day in a 2-1 win at Exeter. His last match was a 1-0 defeat at Bournemouth on 5 May 2012. After making 9 appearances at Preston, Ehmer made his return to the club and although still to make his QPR debut he signed a new contract, keeping him until 2016.
