He only missed one in the next twelve league matches, but his final appearance came in a 1-0 win at Leeds in the FA Cup Third Round on 13 January 1934.

Rawlings then joined Huddersfield during the 1933/34 season as they finished runners up to Arsenal. By the time he joined is next club during the 1934/35 season he had scored twice in 11 league appearances for Huddersfield.

His next port of call was another First Division club in West Brom and stayed until the end of the 1935/36 season, scoring once in 10 appearances.

For the 1936/37 season Rawlings joined Division Three South side Northampton and found his scoring boots by netting 18 goals in 48 appearances before attracting the attention of Millwall during in the 1937/38 season.

Rawlings helped Millwall to gain promotion as the 1937/38 champions of Division Three South. The 1938/39 season ended up the last one before the Second World War with Millwall finishing thirteenth in Division Two and Rawings taking his goal tally to 27 goals from 53 appearances in those two seasons.

In 1945 Rawlings made 2 FA Cup appearances for Everton prior to the restart of the Football League programme in 1946/47. For that and the 1947/48 season Rawlings joined Second Division Plymouth and netted 20 goals from 56 appearances.
