Player Profile – Tinsley Lindley
Dr. Tinsley Lindley was born in Nottingham on 27 0ctober 1865. Lindley played as an amateur as a centre-forward and just made 4 appearances in all competitions and didn’t win a match.
He started in his home city playing for Notts County, his debut was a 1-1 draw at home to Aston Villa on 9 November 1889. He had to wait over three months for his next appearances which was also a 1-1 home draw against Blackburn on 18 February 1890. His last appearance for the Magpies was a 2-1 defeat against non-league The Wednesday in the FA Cup Third Round, second replay match.
He had to wait until the 1891/92 season for his next and last appearance. This time it was for Preston and his only match for PNE was a 4-1 defeat at Sunderland on 12 March 1892.
Dr Linley passed away in 1940.
