Player Profile: Andreas  Arestidou

Andreas J. Arestidou was born on 6 December 1989 He attended Lancaster Royal Grammar School and was a member of the school cricket team, he was well known for his hostile yet accurate bowling style. Arestidou joined Blackburn at the age of 11

He joined Shrewsbury and was a regular in the reserve team during the 2008/09 season.

Arestidou then made his league debut in a match in the 2009/10 season, starting in the Shrews' 1–1 draw at home to Bury on 21 November 2009. His second and last appearance was 3 days later in a 2-1 defeat at Hereford. He was released on 14 May 2010.]

He then joined Preston on trial and played in the 3-1 pre-season friendly win against Chorley. Arestidou then signed a one-year deal. Despite him not appearing for the first team in 2010/11, he did enough to earn an additional year's contract and broke into the first team after first choice goalkeeper Iain Turner broke a toe. He made his competitive debut for Preston in a 2-0 League Cup game at Charlton on 13 September 2011. His PNE league debut was 4 days later in a 3-1 win at Brentford and was on the winning side in five of his seven senior Preston appearances.

Arestidou became first choice during Turner absence. However, it was short lived as he was replaced by signing Thorsten Stuckmann, after Arestidou conceded five goals against Charton in a 5–2 loss. On  5 November 2011. His next appearance was the return fixture in a 2-2 home draw against Charlton on 28 April 2012. A week later was his final match for PNE in a 1-0 defeat at Bournemouth. Arestidou was released from the club after being told his contract would not be renewed.

Arestidou joined Morecambe as competition for first-choice keeper Barry Roche. and made his Shrimps debut in a 2-0 win at Accrington in the JPT on 4 September 2012. His league debut was also his home debut in a 0-0 draw against Burton on 6 October. He was on the losing side of his next JPT tie in a 4-2 home defeat against former club Preston on 9 October. In total he made 6 league appearances for Morecambe in 2012/13
