Player Profile – Tim Allpress
Timothy John Allpress was born in Hitchin on 27 January 1971.Allpress came through the youth set up with first division Luton. Having signed professional forms in July 1989 he made his only appearance for Luton in the 1989/90 season.
In October 1991 Allpress joined Preston on loan and made his debut in a 3-2 defeat at Chester on 2 November 1991. Allpress made 9 appearances for PNE, his last game was a 1-0 defeat on New Years Day at Bournemouth.
Unable to break into Luton’s first team he left the club and joined non-league Boston before playing for German side Bayer Uerdingen.
In August 1993 Allpress joined Third Division Colchester and made 23 appearances in 1993/94 as the U’s finished in seventeenth position. Allpress made a further 11 appearances in 1994/95 as Colchester finished in tenth position.
Allpress returned to non-league football in 1995 with his home town club Hitchin Town. His first spell was brief as he moved to Hong Kong with the Enterprise club. He returned to England with Hitchen for the second time before joining St Albans City in August 1999.
In February 2000 Allpress returned to Hitchin for the third time and in total made more than 250 appearances for the club before being released in 2003, he was also named Supporters Club Player of the Year in 2000/01.
Allpress became a Police Constable in the Metropolitan Police.
