A mid table finish saw Zelem net 3 goals from 35 appearances in 1982/83. His most productive season in front of goal came in their re-election season of 1983/84 when he scored 7 times including 3 penalties from 42 appearances.
After scoring 15 goals in 129 appearances Zelem signed for Second Division Wolves for £12,500 in January 1984. This money helped
Zelem made 16 appearances for Wolves for the remainder of the 1984/85 season saw them finish bottom and relegation to Division Three. Consecutive relegation occurred in 1985/86 as Wolves dropped to the Fourth Division, with Zelem making 14 appearances.
