February was always going to be a hard month after January proved to be so successful for the Whites. North end had a tricky away game at Stoke and couldn't convert a man's advantage plus a late penalty and had to settle for a goalless draw. Crystal Palace were then brushed aside in the FA Cup replay with two goals from Danny Dichio - his first since August. Preston then recorded there biggest win of the season with a 5-1 trouncing at home to Luton befor battling hard for a midweek draw at Southampton. however, Preston's unbeaten run came to an end against Middlesborough in the Cup and then away in th eleague to runaway leaders Reading.
Preston now face a crucial two months with twelve games left to play. with the postponement of the Ipswich game the Whites will be playing two games a week more or less. By the next time we see Preston at Deepdale the play off picture maybe a little clearer or not as the case maybe. Two long away trips at Plymouth and brighton are followed by the journey to Sheffield Wednesday before ending the month at home to Plymouth and Crewe. No doubt this is a huge month for Billy Davies and his men.
February did see one other positive as Claude Davis was name player of the month by his fellow league professionals.
