Preston have only lost one home game this season and it's a good job too when contrasted with one of the worst away records throughout the football league.
After Saturday's defeat at Barnsley, Preston have a quick turnaround with a home game against Leicester this Tuesday at Deepdale. It's a chance to pick up more home points and keep their heads above the relegation zone.
Simpson looks to have the majority of the squad to pick from. Chilvers made a surprise return to the starting line up at the weekend. He may well be rested for the returning Mawene thie Tuesday wih St Ledger being outstanding over the pats few games. Jones is also pushing to be fit although loan signing halls may well keep his place. Hill should start at left back although Davidson is now ready to play.
The midfield is a contentious issue. Nicholls was poor on Saturday being subbed late on. He may well continue although Simpson has options of playing Carter, Sedgewick or Davidson alongside Mckenna in the middle.
Whaley looked lively when he came on and Lewis Neal has never been given a chance but Simpson has options for the wide positions as well as up front. As all six frontmen appear to be firing blanks, it is anyones guess who will start on Tuesday with Hawley and Ormerod firing blanks at Oakwell, Gallagher and Carroll banished from the squad and Mellor seeming only to be given 20 minutes here and there I wouldn't be surprised if we just started Agyemang up front on his own!
Leicester will be a tough game for the Whites as they look to climb into the top half. Thye have had almost as many manager's this season as we have had strikers but are still lookingn like an effective outfit. Should Preston fail to win the pressure will mount towards the away game at Hull on Saturday.
