Tuesday's defeat to Shrewsbury leaves the Lilywhites awaiting their first league win of the campaign heading into Saturday's tricky trip to Dorset.

The Cherries are also yet to record victory having picked up two draws but, nonetheless, have their defeat column untouched.

A win for North End could lift the spirits of the North End faithful whilst a defeat could further highlight the need for a striker.

Last season's trip to Dean Court wasn't a particularly happy or memorable one for Graham Westley's side.

A Charlie Daniels strike on 51 minutes proved to be enough for a Cherries victory which, subsequently, meant that Graham Westley couldn't take his North End wins beyond three.

The return fixture at Deepdale back in October didn't leave North End fans with much to cheer either thanks to a 3-1 defeat.

Juvhel Tsoumou put North End ahead on 29 minutes only for Wes Thomas to level for the visitors just after the restart.

Scott Malone and Marc Pugh wrapped up the scoring and indeed the points for Bournemouth with goals on 57 and 69 minutes respectively.

In total the Lilywhites and the Cherries have faced each other 25 times with the latter having the upper end in terms of victories; 13 over North End's eight and four draws.

Team News

Midfielders and former Stevenage duo Joel Byrom and John Mousinho are both doubts with the former still waiting to make his debut for the Lilywhites.

Striker Akpo Sodje is also a doubt after being subbed shortly after his introduction during the defeat to Shrewsbury on Tuesday.

For the Cherries Josh McQuoid is a doubt as he looks to step up his recovery from a heel injury.

Fellow striker Frank Demouge recovers from a knee problem and can be ruled out of contention.

However, Steve Fletcher could be in line to start after coming on as a half-time sub during the 1-1 draw with MK Dons on Tuesday after recovering from a dead leag.
