Preston North End Vs Everton

Pre-Season Friendly Saturday 24th July 2010 3:00 KO

After the excellent, albeit unexpected, drubbing of Premier League neighbours Blackburn on Tuesday, North End face an even sterner test in the form of David Moyes' Everton.

The former North End manager's side's inevitable visit Deepdale comes on the back of two straight draws against Airbus UK and Clyde FC on Saturday and Tuesday respectively.

Everton's pre-season is in full swing, though, having already seen off the challenge of Sydney FC, Melbourne Heart and Brisbane Roar as part of their Australian tour.

North End have notched up three consecutive wins having beaten Bamber Bridge, Chorley and Blackburn Rovers.

Previous Meetings

In July 2008, Moyes' Everton recorded a narrow victory thanks to a powerful header from Phil Jagielka who got on the end of a Jose Baxter cross.

Fir the visitors, Victor Anichebe and Leon Osman both find themselves ruled out of the trip to Deepdale after picking up knocks in training.

For North End, Jon Parkin will miss out thanks to the hamstring injury that kept him sidelined for the Blackburn game in midweek. Wayne Brown is suffering from a slight hip injury which is expected to keep him sidelined for Saturday's game at the very least.

Winger Paul Parry is back in contention after being excused of the visit of Rovers due to a family bereavement. Meanwhile, new goalkeeper Andreas Arestidou may play some part after signing a one-year deal on Friday.
