Preston have failed in recent trips to lowly Leeds and Hull so now they face a test against QPR who are also down at the wrong end of the table.
Simpson has plenty to ponder with players coming back from injury but he has to make the right selection for what will undoubtedly be a tough game at Loftus Road.
Lonergan will start in goals but hte back four may well be changed. chilvers and St Ledger are most likely to start but the full backs may well be changed. Wilson filled in well but club captain Alexander may well be back at full back. Simpson will also hope Matt Hill can return for the poor Pergl at left back.
In midfield Davidson has proved effective recently but his injury at Leeds may well keep him out. Mckenna may come in if fit with Sedgewick alongside. Pugh will start out left and Songo'o on the right with Neal and Whaley both pushing for a return. Adam Nowland may also be asked to sit on the bench again.
Nugent will play a vital role up front and is most likely to be partnered with Ormerod. Ricketts, Agyemang, Mellor and Dichio all fighting for a place on the bench.
Preston will have to fight hard and although performances come second behind points at this time of the season Preston fans will be asking for more efficiency both at the back and up front for Preston to stand any chance of pushing on until the end of the season.
