The early season has seen Preston hovering in and around the relegation zone and the fans will want to see that change before they get dragged into a dogfight the other side of Christmas.

The midfield may well be rearranged with Carte playing well but Davidson facing suspension after picking up five bookings. Mckenna may also be pushing for a comeback with three games in a week likely to cause fatigue to most of the players.
All trhe front runners have failed to consistently perform with goals. Hawley and Gallagher have been given the nod recently but Mellor is chomping at the bit with Agyemang, Ormerod and Carroll all waiting in the wings.
This is a crucial week for boss Simpson who knows six points out of six at home will do a lot to appease dissenting voices in the crowd and also plough Preston up the table. On the other hand defeat at home to lowly QPR could spell a treacherous few days for the man in charge.
