Preston face a stern test at table toppers Coventry on Saturday evening in front of the Sky cameras. Goal shy Preston are second bottom whilst Coventry top the table going into this weekend's fixtures.
After club captain Graham Alexander was sold to rivals Burnley, Billy Jones is expected to come in at right back with Mawene set to have the arm band alongside St Ledger. Matty Hill will be pushing Davidson for a slot at left back with internation Henderson to remain between the sticks.
The midfield pairing of Carter and Nicholls will remain but all other forward positions are up for grams. Whaley played in the reserves in midweek and will fight Sedgewick for the right wing berth whilst Lewis Neal may well dislodge Danny Pugh from the left wing position.
Carroll will most likely start after looking lively last week but who plays alongside him is anyone's guess. Mellor scored in the reserves in midweek whilst Agyemang started last week. Ormerod is also pushing for a place whilst Hawley was left out completely last Saturday.
Preston will have to tighten up against set pieces and concentration must be at an optimum if North End are to even sneak a point.
