It has been said all along that Preston have the easiest run in out of the top sides. After Saturday that sentence was made a mockery of. May sound cliche but there are no easy games at this time of the season and Paul Simpson knows it.
It is all about results and not performances but lately both have dried up. It hasn't been easy with injuries mounting up but points are needed on the board from the next three games before Preston slip out of the play off picture.
David Nugent is set to start after feeling the effects of a kick in the back at Hull on Saturday. Who plays alongside him is anyones guess. Dichio has been on the bench lately with Ormerod fit again. Ricketts, Mellor and Agyemang were all ineffective at Hull.
Simpson must surely opt for width with Songo'o and Pugh out wide. Pergl will most likely remain in the middle with Sedgewick but improved performances all round will be needed.
Davidson may well keep his place although Hill will be looking to come back into the side. There is always the option of playing Davidson in midfield.
Wilson and Soley will be challenging for places at the back after Saturday's inept performance. Chilvers, St Ledger and Alexander will be asked to improve if they are to remain with Lonergan in between the sticks having saved Preston recently.
