The North End coach was delighted with the 2-1 win against one of North End's play-off place rivals at Upton Park on saturday.
"We tried to keep the crowd as quiet as possible, and we are delighted with the result," Kelly said after thegame.
"It's a big win for us."
The North End assistant also played down reports that Brian O'Neil had over-reacted when Tomas Repka headbutted him just a minute before the half time break. The Hammers defender receiving his marching orders from referee Mr Tanner.
"If you look at Brian O'Neil's right eye, you would not think he had made a meal of the incident with Repka," Kelly said.
