Active day in the Transfer Market

An active day in the transfer market has seen two new players arriving and one player departing deepdale, a swap deal with Stoke City bringing in Lewis Neal with Marlon Broomes going in the opposite direction and a loan deal to be finalized tomorrow for Manchester United youngster David Jones.

Broomes departs after three years at the club being one of Craig Brown's signings in the summer of 2002 starting 59 games for the Lilywhites.

Lewis Neal has spent all his career at Stoke City making his debut in the year 2000, the Leicester born midfielder joined Stoke as a trainee seven years ago.

David Jones arrives on a one year loan deal, the Manchester United reserve team captain follows in the footsteps of David Beckham albeit for a longer period, the Southport born midfielder joined Man Utd in the summer of 2003.

Both new signings are predominantly left footed but whether either is a direct replacement for Eddie Lewis remains to be seen.
