Frankie McAvoy left Norwich recently where he had work under Alex Neil. It was rumoured that he would link up again with Neil at Preston after the pair had worked successful at both Hamilton and Norwich.
The appointment was confirmed and McAvoy will work alongside existing coach Steve Thompson.
