The FA have left the Whites in bewilderment after the Gould sending off appeal has been declined by officials in London.
The ‘keeper was furious when he got sent off for bringing Lee Hughes down in the area, and was adamant after the game he made no contact at all.
The chairman Derek Shaw said: "We are all extremely disappointed that the appeal has failed and now there's nothing we can do about it.
"We are convinced the referee made a mistake and are disappointed we're being punished for this twice.
"Okay, we're not going to get the 3 points back, but now Jonathon's suspended for a game.
"Their player was going away from goal, and having watched the video many times, it's clear Jonathan didn't contact him.
"At least it's not a three match ban and David Lucas can come in, who's a good goalkeeper.
"We can't dwell on it and have to move on. There's no further appeal, so we'll have to accept it."
