Phil Brown has talked about belief for most of his short time in charge of Preston and today that was put into action with Preston building up a little momentum as they head into the international break.
The Whites had the majority of the play in the first half against a Coventry side who themselves were low on confidence having sacked their manager last week. Preston took the lead through Iain Hume who is fast becoming Preston's most consistent marksman.
If Eddie Johnson had managed to connect his brain to his feet then Preston could have had a comfortable lead at half time as the American got himself into several good positions but on each occassion he failed to convert.
As is often the case with Preston, they can be coasting along without any care in the world when suddenly the opposition have one innocuous attack and the game is level. To be fair to Coventry, an excellent finish off the post drew them level.
Preston then made changes whilst huffing and puffing towards the end of the game without much reward. However, a corner in the 93rd minute was swung in and substitute Nathan Ellington managed a bullet header into the backof the net.
There is now a two week gap for Preston to recover and get their injured back to fitness for the final run in of the season which will determine which division Preston will play in next season.
