Billy Davies thought of resting Nugent at Cardiff

Preston manager Billy Davies has admitted he would rather have had  centre forward David Nugent coming on as a substitute in the play off final rather than using him from the start due to the player being 'dead on his feet'. The admission came at last nights fans forum and will suprise a number of people, Billy decided to go with the former Bury player after all although believes that PNE would still have lost had he not started.

No one can say now if the decision was right or wrong had Nugent come off the bench instead of starting but it does make a nice change to hear a manager so upfront and honest with the fans about a possible very big mistake that could have occurred.
