There has been disappointment from supporters echoed by the club in terms of the ticketing allocation and process for the first fixture at Bloomfield Road in a number of years.
Preston were allocated just over 2000 tickets despite other recent visiting sides receiving a higher number of tickets. The reason given was the safety of fans so North End graciously accepted the allocation with an agreement to live stream the game back at Deepdale.
In a bizarre twist Blackpool have now granted 800 addiitonal tickets to home fans in the same stand where away fans are situated. This seems to go against all safety concerns and general contrary to common sense.
Whilst it is absolutely at the discretion of any home side to dictate the away allocation it seems Blackpool are actively encouraging trouble at the fixture by putting home and away fans in the same stand at a 3pm fixture.
Preston were less than satisfied with the decision and wll give consideration to the away allocation when Blackpool travel to Deepdale whch would typicaly be the whole of the Kop. It will be interesting to see what happens.
