Bore Draw Ends Pre-Season

North End completed their pre-season away at Bolton drawing in a nil nil stalemate. The official line is that Preston's pre-season was a good one being unbeaten throughout although many point to the bounce match against Fulham where Preston were thrashed by five clear goals.

Preston were hardly going to surprise anyone. Grayson was not all of a sudden going to change his approach after having several successful seasons at Deepdale.

The result emphasises that Preston will be hard to beat yet they still ened to do more on their attacking game if they want to progress from last year. This will come with time and the midfield does now appear to have more forward thrust with Pringle involved and a fully fit Jermaine Beckford can only help.

The true test will be away at Reading on Saturday. The clubs finished in similar positions last year. Preston won at Reading towards the end of the season in a dead rubber but the hosts will look to kick start their season with a win.
