The Preston boss said after the game that he felt the side suffered the effects of having played with ten men during the midweek draw at Wolves.
"I thought playing with 10 men on Wednesday night at Wolves showed today, particularly in that heat," he said after the game.
"I have got to say that in spite of putting in three new faces we were still leg weary towards the end of the game.
" Having said that, they got two good goals and took them very well and I give them credit for that."
