Ryan Lowe changed his line up for the midweek League Cup tie away at Huddersfield. The home side had made a less than impressive start to the new campaign after a change in manager shortly before the start of the new season.
North End took charge early on and never really looked back with much of the action coming down the left hand side thanks to a good first forty five minutes from Fernandez before he went off injured.
Parrott scored his first for the club after he pounced in the box after an intial effort from range was kept out. Hopefully this will be the start of a scoring run for the young striker.
North End added two further goals before the break. Both were created by Fernandez on the left who found Mccann who slotted home in similar fashion for his two chances. The pair took their opportunity well to impress Lowe.
After the break Potts added a forth as he stormed forward and finshed from range. The only blot on the copy book as when Rhodes was played through and scored a consolation.
It was a good performance although they will need to know replicate this in the league after their first two games finished goalless. Lowe will be hoping that this can be the catalyst for more goals and points in the league.
