Paul Simpson does not deny there may have been a possible year extension for lexander but nothing had been put on the table. Burnley put in an offer for £200,000 earlier in the week for the 35 year old and with a two year contract Alexander snapped up the deal.
Burnley have signed there man eight years after they first chased him at Luton when back then Alexander signed for North End ahead of Burnley for £50,000.
Jones is now expected to fill the right back slot with Mawene the obvious choice at captain. Who the new penalty taker is will be anyone's guess but Simpson may now have leeway to bring someone in during the next 24 hours.
